FaceChipz was created by parents who were concerned about how, when and where their kids were spending time on the Internet. Our “tweenagers” outgrew the traditional websites for children but weren’t yet ready for the full-fledged, open social networking experience. We created FaceChipz to address those needs. Our kids were the “Chief Creative Officers and “Alpha” testers of this site. They told us what they liked, what they didn’t like, what worked and what didn’t work. We listened, and then we programmed.
We hope you enjoy the site and that it satisfies today’s parents’ privacy concerns. We’re still tweaking and adding things, and would very much appreciate your feedback.
Visit the site regularly and often, but don’t let it interfere with your school work. Most importantly, social networks should never take the place of real world friendships. Balance your time on the Internet with extracurricular activities like spending time with family and friends, sports and giving back to your community. When you do these things, you’ll find there’ll be lots more to chat about on FaceChipz.
To parents reading this, please review the special section that has been prepared for you. There are lots of great tips, tools and links on how to keep your kids cybersafe wherever they are on the Internet.
