Kids, FaceChipz™ has prepared the below information especially for you. Here you can learn about how to report safety problems, as well as familiarize yourself with the FaceChipz Code of Conduct. We’ve also put together a list of links to sites especially designed for kids that deal with Internet safety. Additionally you can find lots more useful information on how the site works in the Help section. Please read on and remember to always be Safe when surfing the Internet.
Kids, in addition to the information contained here, you can also read FaceChipz’ Privacy Policy by clicking on the CARU logo at the bottom of every page on the site.
There are some great things you can see on the Internet, but sometimes people with bad intentions can post pictures and things to read which might upset you. Most times someone posts something as a joke or they are unaware of how their actions might affect others. In these cases, usually just taking down the offensive image or removing the words will suffice. However, in some rare instances the authorities (the police) need to be informed. FaceChipz has taken precautions to prevent such problems from occurring, but in case something were to happen we are prepared to handle a situation, and so should you. There are TWO different ways you can report safety problems on FaceChipz:
If you or one of your FaceChipz™ friends is in immediate, life-threatening danger, risk or you require an urgent response, tell your parents or call the police. (In most areas of the USA they can be reached by dialing 911. If you live in a country other than the United States, please ask your parents what is the best number to call in the event of an emergency.)
If you have inadvertently stumbled across someone on this site, that you are aware of, has posted potentially illegal online content, specifically, obscene content (dirty pictures, images, or writings) racial hatred content; ANY sort of images or writings, links, audio or video material that in general makes you feel uneasy or that you don’t feel are appropriate for FaceChipz; tell your parents immediately. You can always click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page to let the FaceChipz Team know as well.
FaceChipz is monitored by CARU (Children's Advertising Review Unit) Privacy Program. If you believe that FaceChipz has not responded to your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, please contact CARU at: caru@caru.bbb.org.
In order to maintain FaceChipz as a safe environment, anyone using the site must abide by the following terms and conditions:
If you violate these terms and conditions your account could be Deactivated or Deleted and your parents notified. You could also be expelled from the site and not permitted back.
If you cannot agree to these terms, DO NOT use the FaceChipz.com website. (These terms are also posted in the Terms & Conditions.)
Some kids sites employ what is called “white list,” or “pull-downs” (off pull-down menus) which means all communications between friends occur through pre-screened, predetermined text. Because FaceChipz users actually know who they are messaging with, and there is no chance of a stranger interacting with them, we let our users engage in “free chat.”
On FaceChipz you can say whatever you want; just as long as you don’t use offensive language. Kids who break the rules will either get reported by their own friends or the website’s automatic offensive language and imagery filter will remove potentially offensive words, bad or naughty emoticons and images.
The language filter replaces all the letters of a swear word with asterisks. An example would look like this: “I don’t like you. You are a ******* person.” The filter is EXTREMELY powerful and knowledgeable. It knows more bad words and phrases than a drunken sailor so please don’t try and outsmart it.
